Venus Flytrap Dente
Venus fly traps are the most known carnivorous plant out there. They snap their traps shut when prey touch the hairs inside them.
Variety: Dente are cultivars of Venus flytraps known for their jagged teeth but similar characteristics to typical. You will notice the teeth form sharp shark-like shapes rather than long skinny ones.
PLANTS MAY BE DORMANT DURING WINTER
Size and what arrives
- Pot size: 2.5" pot.
- What arrives: One Venus Flytrap 'Dente' plant, potted. Photos are representative; actual size and color vary.
Care
Full sun or a strong grow light (4+ hours of direct sun is ideal). Use only distilled, rain or RO water, kept in a tray. Peat/perlite with no fertilizer, and skip foliar sprays; flytrap roots are very sensitive. Feeding is optional: live or rehydrated bugs, or a little fish food (gently massage the trap afterward so it thinks it caught something). Never trigger traps for fun. Shipping and live arrival
Ships Monday–Wednesday by USPS Priority Mail in its pot, wrapped and boxed. Covered by our live-arrival policy; cold damage is excluded unless a $3.49 shipping heat pack is added, so add one when nights are cold along the route.
Winter dormancy
Venus flytraps go dormant from about late fall to early spring. A winter plant may arrive with small, few or blackened traps; that is normal. Keep it cool (roughly 35–50°F) and keep the soil damp but not soggy. Trim dead leaves as needed.
