Carnivorous Plant Soil Mix
Our soil mix for Venus flytraps, sundews (Drosera) and Sarracenia (North American pitcher plants). It holds moisture while still letting roots breathe, and it's low in nutrients, which is exactly what carnivorous plants need.
Works for: Venus flytraps, Sarracenia and Drosera (sundews). Growing Nepenthes? Use our Nepenthes Media Mix. Growing Pinguicula? Use our Pinguicula Media Mix.
Ingredients: Approximately 50% peat moss and 50% perlite.
Sizes: Quart Bag or Gallon Bag.
How to use
Wet the mix with distilled, rain or RO water before potting. Never use tap water, regular potting soil or mixes with added fertilizer, since they can burn carnivorous plant roots. Full care guides: Plant Care Tips & Information.
